Several times a year we receive color slide orders from High School Art Students who need the slides to get into College Art Programs. The admissions committee reviews the slides to determine which students will be a good fit for their higher education classes. Perfect looking slides like ours can make all of the difference between success and failure for your college application.
The easiest way to photograph your art work is outside using the sun to illuminate your pieces. Position your camera in the center of the painting and make sure the back of the camera is parallel to the surface of the paper or canvas. That way your art will not be distorted or skewed. Zoom into your image so it fills the frame inside the camera. Set your digital camera to shoot the largest JPG or TIF image that it can shoot. When you're finished shooting, download your images into your computer and crop off any remaining background. You can also manipulate the color, constrast and brightness if necessary. Do a Save As so you have a new copy of the image, leaving the original camera image intact in case you need it later. Name your new and improved image with your last name and a number so we can tell your images from other clients. (i.e.: lastname001.jpg or lastname001.tif)
Twenty slides fit into a 20 slot slide page perfectly and the slide page fits into a standard Priority Mail or FedEx cardboard shipping envelope, so sending your slides to the art college will be no problem at all. We provide the slide pages as part of the price and service that we give you. 20 slides qualifies for our discount price of $2.49 per slide and if you order additional sets of slides at the same time, then those duplicates are only $1.49 each. Most art students apply to more than one school, so they always order multiple sets.
